This week’s theme: “Small Steps, Big Shifts” 🌻

Hey Wellness Family,

Every Sunday, I’ll drop into your inbox with a warm cup of rooibos tea and a few good things: a little science you can trust, a South African twist on plant-based eating, and gentle inspiration to help you live well — one meal, one mindful choice at a time.

🌻

“Small steps create sustainable change.”

In health, what you repeat daily matters more than what you do perfectly once. Whether it’s swapping dairy for oat milk or adding a handful of morogo to your dinner — every bit adds up to better energy, digestion, and long-term wellness.

🧠

The Science Spotlight

Evidence-Based

Fibre — The Forgotten Superpower

According to the South African Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2024), most adults in SA consume less than half the recommended daily fibre intake. Fibre does more than keep digestion smooth — it lowers cholesterol, balances blood sugar, and feeds good gut bacteria.

🩺

Quick Fix

Add just 10g more fibre a day — a cup of beans or two spoons of ground flaxseed — and studies show you could lower heart disease risk by up to 20%.

💡

Zama’s Tip

Blend 1 Tbsp flaxseed into your morning smoothie, or sprinkle over pap with banana and peanut butter.
